Like a king bedecked in crimson and gold, these rosy-fuchsia poppies with golden centers dazzle the eye. Meadow or naturalized landscape plantings are especially effective. California poppies are generally drought tolerant and bloom from early summer into fall, but will take a break during heat waves. Honeybees and other bees relish the nutrient-rich pollen.
