Crocus chrysanthus 'Dorothy'

Among the earliest arrivals in the late-winter landscape, Crocus 'Dorothy' is a resilient perennial corm that stands just three to four inches tall. This Crocus chrysanthus variety is a dependable choice for naturalizing in lawns, borders, or rock gardens, thanks to its ability to return reliably each year and its natural resistance to deer. The scented, goblet-shaped flowers feature a vivid deep-yellow interior and are accented by delicate bronze feathering at the base of the outer petals. These blooms are highly sensitive to their environment, unfurling fully in bright sunlight and closing tightly at night or during cloudy weather.

The foliage is equally distinctive, consisting of slender, dark green leaves marked with a sharp, central white stripe.
